Shoes: Prada Crocodile Alligator Black Ballet Flats – Workplace Office Shoes
Heel Height: No Heel, Flat
Comfort Rating: 4/5. Made of crocodile or alligator leather, leather soles.
Material: Made of either crocodile or alligator leather, sturdy leather uppers and leather soles. Made in Italy.
Modifications: These are 37.5 and I found that they ran true to size. Added a gel insole for arch support (most flats lack proper arch support) and heel grips at the back to make sure they fit snugly on the foot.

“You’ve got the words to change a nation, but you’re biting your tongue,
You’ve spent a life time stuck in silence, afraid you’ll say something wrong,
If no one ever hears it, how we gonna learn your song,
So come on, come on…
I wanna sing! I wanna shout!
I wanna scream till the words dry out,
So put it in all of the papers, I’m not afraid,
They can read all about it… read all about it… ”
I did say in my last post that I would dedicate the next new posts to the workplace and office appropriate gear, right?

Bon! That includes these lovely Prada black ballerina leather flats that are fashioned from either genuine crocodile or alligator leather. I’m leaning towards alligator, as the scales seem smaller and there aren’t any visible croc pores.
These shoes are currently my favorite versatile shoes! They go from office to happy hour in a jiffy and they survive a commute in all weather conditions.
Yes, I have worn these Prada ballet flats through the rain and puddles (as well as on sunny days) and they hold up quite well, I call it “taking the Gators for a walk“.

Mad bonus for the comfort factor that comes with them being flats! These only had a point deducted because the initial break-in around the narrow toe region (now stretched wide) hurt my feet in the beginning, and the leather is quite stiff. I had to enlist the help of some gym socks rolled into a ball to help widen the toe region.
The real reason why I love them so darn much?
As I’ve just recently started a new job, I didn’t want to draw any unwanted attention to my wardrobe. I prefer my coworkers to notice the work that I’m doing around the office, rather than what’s on my feet.
While I love going out in flashy Chanel flats (with all the CC’s and trimmings), I needed a basic pair of black flats that would be comfortable for running office errands and devoid of any logos.
Enter these Prada alligator babies!
I console myself with the thought that, even though they’re just another basic pair of black flats to everyone else at the office, *I* know that they’re high quality MADE IN ITALY shoes that have been lovingly handcrafted by a skilled craftsman.
I also love the material they’re made from, luxurious and rare alligator leather.
It’s my own personal way of silently “singing, screaming, and shouting” at the office, without anyone knowing.
Also, for anyone who has watched a nature documentary, alligators only seem quiet and patient while in the water. Don’t provoke ’em!
What do you think of these Prada flats?
